Stoford completes 62,431 sq ft unit for national foodservice wholesaler at Worcester Six

5th March 2025

Work has completed on a new bespoke unit at Worcester Six Business Park.

Leading commercial property developer, Stoford announced the practical completion of a 62,431 sq ft building.

The development, which took 28 weeks to build, provides a hub for national food wholesaler Bidfood, which supplies more than 10,000 products to over 45,000 caterers and food service businesses across the UK.

Comprising storage and cold store space with ancillary offices, the facility becomes Bidfood’s first in the region, and 28th depot nationally.

The new unit is accessible via an extension to the existing internal estate road at Worcester Six Business Park, which links to Clayfield Road and Pershore Lane, via junction 6 of the M5.

Situated adjacent to Kohler Mira and IONOS, it also benefits from a number of sustainable enhancements and has achieved an EPC A rating. Overall, Worcester Six has a BREEAM rating of ‘Very Good’.

Edward Peel, Director at Stoford said: “It’s great to see the completion of our 11th unit at Worcester Six. Bidfood joins a strong list of established occupiers that have chosen W6 as their home due to the high calibre of the accommodation and excellent connectivity. The completion of this unit is one of a number of exciting developments at the park, with recent investments unlocking more than 60 acres of land in the southern extension.”

Mark Wood, COO at Bidfood said: “The introduction will provide an excellent addition to our network in and around Worcestershire, offering superb transport links to the Birmingham and Midlands region, and serve the communities in which it operates by providing around 200 new jobs to local people. The development continues to emphasise the importance that we place on long term investment in our infrastructure, allowing us to provide service excellence to our customers.”

Richard Morris, Wychavon’s Executive Board member for Economy and Tourism, said: “I’m delighted to welcome Bidfood to Wychavon. Having one of the UK’s leading suppliers of food and drink products set up home at Worcester Six is another sign of confidence in Wychavon as a place to invest and do business. We’ll continue to support our businesses to grow, create jobs and opportunities.”

Councillor Adam Kent, Cabinet Member with Economy and Skills at Worcestershire County Council, said: “The establishment of Bidfood’s new facility at Worcester Six Business Park underscores our county’s growing appeal as a premier destination for leading businesses. This significant investment not only brings substantial employment opportunities to our residents but also reinforces Worcestershire’s position as a hub for economic growth and innovation. We are dedicated to fostering a business-friendly environment, and Bidfood’s decision to join our community is a testament to the collaborative efforts that make such developments possible. We eagerly anticipate the positive impact this will have on our local economy and the continued prosperity of the region.”

Being developed by Stoford, Worcester Six is a high-quality business park that has already attracted a number of world-class businesses to the region: Alliance Flooring Distribution, IONOS, ZwickRoell, Kohler Mira, Sierra Engineering, Siemens, Spire Healthcare, Kimal, Super Smart Service, and Stop Start Logistics. Infrastructure works have also completed to facilitate the development of the southern extension of the site, unlocking more than 60 acres of land.
