Construction begins on global manufacturer’s new 278,048 sq ft unit in Worcester
Work has started on the development of a bespoke manufacturing facility at Worcester Six Business Park.
The unit is being delivered by leading commercial property developer, Stoford, for global manufacturer, MiTek.
Comprising 278,048 sq ft, the building will become MiTek’s EMEA headquarters, serving its businesses in the UK, France, Germany, Poland, Latvia, Czech Republic, Sweden, Norway, Finland and South Africa.
Stoford has appointed Benniman as the main contractor and the project is programmed for completion in Q4 2025. Once complete, MiTek will acquire the freehold to the building, representing what is believed to be the largest pre-sale in Worcestershire for more than 20 years.
Accessible via the recently completed estate road, the unit is the first to be built on the southern extension at Worcester Six. Its completion will mark 1.2 m sq ft of commercial real estate delivered at the business park over the last 10 years.
Stoford Director, Edward Peel, said: “Construction starting on MiTek’s new headquarters is really exciting and is a significant milestone at Worcester Six. It will be the largest building delivered, boosting the growing manufacturing presence at the park and within the region. We are extremely proud of what we have delivered at Worcester Six and look forward to welcoming MiTek in Q4 2025.”
James Morgan, Managing Director for MiTek’s EMEA operations commented: “As demand for offsite construction continues to grow, this building will provide us with the manufacturing capacity to support the continued growth of our customers across Europe, as well as providing spaces that inspire creativity, foster collaboration, and drive innovation.”
Richard Morris, Wychavon District Council’s Executive Board member for Economy and Tourism, said: “This is a significant investment by a global business that will create jobs and opportunities for our residents. It once again demonstrates the attractiveness of Wychavon as a place to do business.”
Councillor Adam Kent, Cabinet Member with Economy and Skills at Worcestershire County Council, said: “This is fantastic news for Worcestershire. MiTek’s investment will not only create hundreds of jobs but also demonstrates that our county is increasingly becoming a magnet for world-class businesses. Worcestershire has the talent, infrastructure, and vision to attract top-tier companies, and this development will further enhance Worcester Six’s reputation as a leading destination for global enterprises to thrive.”
